“RISE helps build resilience in students, giving them the freedom to engage in work that truly makes a difference in the community. Our goal is to raise up a generation of students who are engaged problem solvers who get the job done.”

Our Mission

The RISE Institute is a rapid prototyping lab for education innovation that helps students find and solve real, interesting problems in our community and around the world.

Enrichment activities include exposure to experiences that stimulate student interest using exciting media, talks by subject-area experts, and compelling scenarios for discussion.

By providing and structuring unique learning opportunities, RISE can facilitate a long-term project with an audacious goal. RISE helps connect students to the knowledge and resources to make their work effective in support of student aspiration.

Students are given the support to plan, to problem-solve, and to enact their long-term objective as a project using design thinking strategies. In the process, they gain self-confidence and begin to reflect an emotional maturity that will serve them as a valuable life asset.

FROM OUR CURRENT STUDENTS:

“RISE is truly a 1 in a million type of program”

“I was a little intimidated at first joining the class, but it is nothing like I thought it would be. Even though it is an elective rather than a credit class, I feel like it is the most useful class I have taken. I have learned to get along with other people because we all have the same goal. In most first period classes I have taken in the past, I sleep because I’m unmotivated to go to school, but this class motivates me.”

“[RISE] is pushing me out of my comfort zone as a barista in the coffee shop.”

“Being a part of something more than just school is just amazing!”

This is a place for my creativity and productivity to bloom.

“My favorite thing of all was the relationships we build in RISE, not only with our students but our teachers as well.”
